What it does
What a smoothing treatment does, and what it doesn't
Your stylist works a smoothing formula through clean hair, then seals it in with the heat of a flat iron. That coating lays the outer layer of each strand flat, so frizz softens and your blow dry takes less time. Waves relax a little, but a smoothing treatment is not a relaxer, and your curl pattern is still there afterward. The effect fades gradually as you wash, so plan on repeating it when the frizz starts to come back.

We offer two different smoothing services at Salon 695, the Brazilian Blowout and keratin smoothing, and each one is priced differently depending on the formula and how long it takes to apply. The Brazilian Blowout is a named system priced from $190, while keratin smoothing is priced at consultation because the formula and timing depend on your hair's length and thickness. Your stylist recommends one after looking at your hair's history, because recent lightener or box dye changes the answer. A stylist who already does your color knows that history before you sit down. If you want new color too, say so when you book, and your stylist will plan which appointment comes first.
